Pastor John H. Boyd II

Dr. John H. Boyd II serves as the Senior Pastor of New Greater Bethel Ministries in Queens Village, New York, carrying forward the powerful legacy established by his late father, Apostle John H. Boyd Sr., in 1972. A Queens native, Pastor John’s lifelong commitment to ministry began in his youth and led him to study Business Administration at Hofstra University. Ordained into pastoral ministry on March 10, 2013, he delivers the Word of God with revelatory insight, dedicated to connecting the “total man” back to Christ. Alongside his wife, Evangelist Valerie Boyd, he actively nurtures the spiritual growth of their three children—John H. Boyd III, Joshua, and Janelle—and their grandchildren.

Pastor John’s impact extends far beyond the pulpit through decades of extensive community and correctional outreach. Since 1980, he and Lady Boyd have ministered to tens of thousands of incarcerated individuals across local, state, and federal facilities. Guided by a passion for soul-winning and community transformation, he leads weekly prayer sessions, televised broadcasts, annual “Big Gospel Tent” revivals, clothing drives, and community health fairs, consistently making a lasting deposit into the lives of those he serves.

A respected civic leader and philanthropist, Pastor John serves on advisory boards for the Queens District Attorney’s Office and the Borough President’s African American Heritage Committee. For over 30 years, he has been deeply involved with Wheelchair Charities of America, where he serves as Vice President, helping raise over $90 million to support patients in New York City public hospitals.

Creative expression and media are central to his ministry. As the Founder and President of Shekinah International, Pastor John has produced and directed award-nominated gospel projects and stage productions, including History. An accomplished author, he penned the children's book The Adventures of Kingdom Kids and is currently completing Coming Out Of Your Grave Clothes Two, a sequel inspired by his father’s work. Through every initiative, Pastor John remains steadfast in proclaiming the Gospel and elevating lives from obscurity to purpose.
